Korea Press Foundation is a non-profit and nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting professional journalism in Korean media.
The foundation focuses on the development of the media industry not only by assisting the activities of journalists and management of media companies, but through independent, top-notch programs such as journalists training, research and survey, periodicals, news articles and other comprehensive information services through out state-of-the art database system(KINDS).
The three predecessors of the KPF; Korean Press Institute, Korea Press Center and Korea Journalists Fund had 20 years of deep-rooted history in promoting Korean media and serving the public interest. And they were reborn as the Korea Press Foundation in 1999 as an integrated institution for Korean media that represents the public interest while pursuing the freedom of the press and the public values.
The Korea Press Foundation is not affiliated with any partisan interests. Our board members consist of professionals representingdifferent social voices from functionally diversified areas as Korean media. Our major activities are strongly supported by budgets from media related funds. Our administrative role as an advertising agency in the process of administering government advertising is out main income source.
Moreover the KPF manages the Korea Press Center building for the benefits of Korean media.
We are strongly committed to nurturing Korean media and promoting the freedom of the press and the public interest.
